Loretta Mason-Williams

Loretta (Lucky) Mason-Williams participates on the Leadership Team, assisting with collaboration activities and the dissemination of research findings.

An associate professor at Binghamton University in New York, her research focuses on addressing special education workforce concerns, including the need to increase the supply, distribute more equitably nationwide, and ensure the effectiveness of all professionals who assist students with disabilities.

Lucky is a former middle school special education teacher with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton, a master’s degree from Loyola College of Maryland, and a doctorate from the University of Maryland.

In addition to her role with the SPARC Center, Lucky directs the Community Research and Action Doctoral Program at Binghamton University and currently serves as the chair of the Policy Committee for the Teacher Education Division of CEC and as a member of the New York State CEEDAR Leadership Team.
